Wine Country Mahjong 102: Strategy + Skill Building

You know the rules. You survived the Charleston. You can call a tile without completely panicking. Now it’s time to take your Mahjong game to the next level! Wine Country Mahjong 102 is designed for players who have completed Mahjong 101 (with me or another instructor) and understand the basic flow of American Mahjong, but are ready to feel more confident, make smarter decisions, and start thinking strategically. In this 2.5-hour class, we’ll move beyond how to play and focus on how to build your game. We’ll cover: How to read and navigate the NMJL card more efficiently Evaluating your starting tiles and identifying possible hands Making smarter decisions during the Charleston Knowing what to keep, pass, and discard How and when to pivot when your hand isn't coming together Joker strategy, exchanges, and when to expose Beginning defensive strategies and learning to watch the table Pattern recognition, table awareness, and building speed Plenty of real-game practice with guidance along the way Mahjong 101 teaches you how to play. Mahjong 102 helps you start thinking like a Mahjong player. You do NOT need to be an expert or feel completely confident before taking 102. In fact, that's exactly why this class exists! If you know the basics but still find yourself staring at the card wondering, “Okay... now what?” you're in the right place.
